Neuchatel, Switzerland. Avalon ST has acquired Pasan SA, the long-standing reference for xenon-based solar simulators and precision PV measurement systems. The deal brings two complementary technologies under one roof, reinforcing the group's position as a global leader in photovoltaic testing and metrology.
A legacy that set the standard
Pasan has set the global benchmark in PV module and cell testing for decades. Its xenon-based simulators are trusted by leading research institutes and module manufacturers worldwide. Pasan's commitment to accuracy, reliability and long-term traceability continues to shape industry benchmarks.
Avalon ST was established in 2018 by former Meyer Burger, Pasan and TUV Rheinland engineers. The company has rapidly become the reference for LED-based solar simulation, with the Nexun series delivering best-in-class accuracy on advanced PV technologies including HJT, PERC, TOPCon and perovskite cells.
Complementary technologies, shared vision
Joining xenon heritage with LED innovation gives the combined group the most complete portfolio for PV cell and module measurement. Customers get access to the right light source for the job, whether they need certification-grade xenon, advanced LED for next-generation chemistries, or hybrid systems for the cells of tomorrow.
Continuity and growth
Operations and teams continue from Neuchatel, Switzerland, and Shanghai, China. The Neuchatel site remains the group headquarters and the home of xenon engineering. Existing customers of both brands continue to be supported by the same engineers they know, with extended access to the full combined product line.
The Pasan and Avalon ST product lines remain distinct. Pasan continues as the premium xenon line for compliance, calibration and reference labs. Avalon continues as the LED line for production, advanced research and emerging chemistries. Together they cover the full spectrum of PV measurement.
